they cre­ated a sim­ple man­tel that serves dou­ble duty. Not only is it a place to dis­play ob­jects, but it con­ceals a slid­ing glass door, which pro­tects the area from er­rant sparks and keeps build­ing heat from es­cap­ing when closed
