What brick and mortar is used for this home? Thanks!
This is Old Chicago, a reclaimed brick with a flat mortar joint where they trowel it flush with the brick face. I believe they used a standard grey mortar.
Great look! We are out of Ontario, Canada and sell a very similar style, if interested.

How can I fake a brick wall?
Love the brick look... How can I bring it into a newly built modern home in the country?
I'm basing that on a fairly standard staircase width of homes from 1940'ish being 30 - 36 inches. Hopefully this helps.
Sheila, I am only the photographer on the project, but I know there are a variety of veneer stone and brick surfaces available. They may vary in your depending on your area.

The ranch-style house developed in America in the 1920s and 1930s and became extremely popular in the booming postwar period of the mid 1940s to 1970s.Middle-class homeowners bought inexpensive land in newly-developing suburban areas where architects could build outwards rather than upwards
due to the availability of land. This laid a framework for ranch-style design, popularised by architects including Cliff May and Joseph Eichler in the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s.
