Yes you can paint aluminum clad siding house. Have to make sure you get it washed down with good tsp (trisodium phosphate) and bleach solution, to take away the chalky residue on dried aluminum. use a good exterior bonding primer which can be tinted. Then a few coats of good exterior paint does the

Considering buying a 1940 house. Kitchen has original sink and metal cabinets.
Our house is 1939, the kitchen is a mish mash...cabinets but NOT the original counter tops were updated to formica in about the 70's and a retro-slate looking floor in the green-gray family went in after a flood a few years ago. The original vintage chrome drawer pulls and hardware remain. I just learned
unit, originally from Montgomery Ward and yes, from the 1940's! The other cabinets are wood and also original to the house and I just painted them. How fun that you are considering a 1940's house.
Cabinets - are these original to the house? One thinks of flat panels as being very modern but I see them
Hi Toni, Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. This sink was the original sink in the house and came with the apron front.

you just answered my own question. Thanks a bunch. We have a 70's version, live in semi tropical and think its time it had a slight rethink regarding siding, of which there is thankfully not much. I'm guessing the siding would be suitable for dormer windows too.
columns? Reason: I had a house built 14y ago, 1700 sf, "used pier & beam?"(cinder blks. & shems) whatever!! D/T my land is gumbo, clay!! Hate it!! this house! It doesn't look like it needs any updating outside. Would love to see inside images. I agree with comments that say to remove the stair rail and paint the pergola. I would also change or paint the garage door.
