Thanks Surface Brokers, I'm just learning about cabinet height and trying to make my unfortunate 8' ceiling look a little more custom in my kitchen. I wish I had gone 9' or 10', but sadly didnt even think about ceiling height when I bought my house.
The island is approx 9' x 8', we left 40" from the cabinets on the right and 42" on the other sides.
