the kitchen hood has an interesting location. this is one of the few layouts i've seen, where the range is facing a wide glass window. i actually like the idea, and am considering the same layout for my kitchen. but a novice architect friend says it is not advisable. is it better to have the range

i like this kitchen because of the view of the backyard in the great big window. This make a person feel like the room is great and vibrant i think it is a good kitchen for a family of four because of the space or even may be more.

We are remodeling a new house and our kitchen has similar concepts. however we ran into a problem; where did you put the switch for the garbage disposal and did you have any electrical outlets in the island?
In advance thanks for your response.
modern design, can you tell us if the trend towards plain painted ceilings or are people still using stucco texturing but a more updated texture like knock-down for example ?
for my kitchen counter tops but am having the hardest time deciding on the right color of white--I know, that probably sounds a little nuts! I like some of the whites with texture that look almost like a terrazzo floor, but they give an overall gray look. I definitely want it to looks white like this
