I am fixated on kitchen islands that are built with wheels and the wheels lock and side-by-side double ovens with French doors and raised dishwashers, and definitely no protruding hardware on cabinets
That's not a problem. We have built many tops around gas ranges. We put a piece of heat reflective tape around the edges as a precaution. It is not visible, of course.
