it's not such a big step to move away from tradition type kitchens as when people spend money on a kitchen they feel in a year or two the modern one will go out of fashion as were tradition is the safer option I changed my kitchen a year ago and done tradition how silly was I. I would stick with lighter tones so it's not competing with the kashmire. We had another client use kashmire and they use a traditional subway tile patter for their backsplash and it turned out great!
