This is the third time in a week I have seen this in a model home or magazine or online. How do people make this work? it seems to me that you need access to a sink and not the small one in the island when you are cooking - draining vegetables and other similar
there is a sink on the range side of the island which serves as the main prep area, conveniently located near the refrigerator and cooking surface. The apron sink is a secondary prep area when needed but functions daily as the clean-up sink.
The sink is the Rohl RC3618. It is 36"W x 18"L.
I think that the wide-angle lens makes it look longer than it truly is (you see how the front stool almost looks oval?).
I don't think that the single basin farmhouse sinks exceed 36", here is one that is 36":
