Why was the sofa placed in front of fireplace? For the photo? Seems bad placement to me.
a quiet, but distinguished guest in the room instead of always being the "host" and focal point. Warmth and visual character without forcing you to place everything in a circle around it. Nice!

For this client, Schroeder installed the backsplash, countertop and laundry room floor. The cabinets and wall color were already in place when we started the project.

window treatments absorb the sound, soften the tone and give warmth. The bigger the room, the more you should be aware of this.In a large room, try placing your piano in a corner so there is less bouncing of sound on other walls.

The porch rafters are structural. This cabin is located in a place with extreme snow loads. The rafters are built-up 2x10's with a 2x8 "sandwiched" between to create that reveal.
Could be an affordable option. Fire resistant.
