Simple guest house to match main house. Made it look like it was built in similar time.

Village Farmhouse

Interesting. Especially the front porch of the original house bridging the gap between the two buildings.
I like the complimentary forms of the roof, and the way that the contemporary wraps to become the porch of the old building
Front of house -bridging the gap
Probably the most complementary addition in this ideabook is this Village Farmhouse in Vermont by Birdseye Design. The addition to the gable house opts to angle the roofline up and away from it, as if in deference to it. The porch covering unites old and new.

Is paint color too light for Mansard Roof house in Maine--near water.
I am having my house painted. The Mansard Roof is currently a cranberry red (cedar shakes) and the body of the house is white. One thought was to paint both the same color or to have the roof
green family and then I saw this and love it, but will it work in Maine? One person said the color is not dense enough for Maine, but house on right is white and house on left is golden yellow. Any thoughts, ideas much appreciated.
It was not a paint color but an integral stucco color so I don't have a color number for it. It's a pale cream color similar to a buff limestone color
What is the color of the house?
Thank you. I will investigate your suggestions; however, the house to the right is white, totally, and the one to the left, a yellow gold. But I do see what you mean. Without sun all day it will look somewhat dull
