Solid-panel Cor-Ten steel gives this barrier a dramatic texture. The fence received a saltwater spray-down after installation to speed the oxidization process.
Patinated steel often goes by the trade name Cor-Ten; the material is coated with a layer of rust through weathering. The application is popular in modern buildings and landscapes. One needs to be aware that the rust can bleed onto adjacent surfaces, such as concrete sidewalks below a weathered steel wall

the steel fence and the stainless steel numbers projected in front of it is a great illustration of the color variation found in Cor-Ten. From afar the material has a monolithic appearance, but in reality the various browns, oranges and even blacks reveal the natural processes at work on the steel.
Where does one find the steel for this type of terracing?
So the wall is concrete, clad with Corten or is it just a concrete footing? How thick is the Corten?

while this modern barn doesn't rely on the archetypal barn roof to signify "barn," its materials, bold massing and proportions communicate it. Cor-Ten steel recalls rusted farm implements, and dry-laid-stone walls recall the site's agrarian past, when stones were stacked at the edges of cultivated plots

Does anyone know the dimensions and thickness of this steel? What is recommended for outdoor use, such as this?
How is the steel embedded into the concrete? Rear connection?
It looks like corten steel, which is rated for outdoor use and applications such as siding.

In case you don't hear directly from the architect, I'd have to guess that it's Corten steel. It is a beautiful material, but you have to be careful with the details as it can stain and corrode adjacent materials. Corten develops a nice patina, the exact color of which can depend on the specific climate
