I would like to know if these cabinets are birdseye maple and where I can get them.
Yes, these cabinets are birdseye maple. These are semi-custom, and were specified through Christiana Cabinetry.
The island stops short of the corner leaving a gap between the island and the wall, and the countertop does waterfall on both ends. These are custom cabinets, so they were made to the correct height, not trimmed. To use a 3" thick countertop with stock cabinets, you would either need to trim them

you aware of problems with maple floors in waterfront locations?

areas due to how much maple can expand and contract. Wondering if you are aware of that and if so if you have suggestions of other wood species or how to get the look of this house (even if we end up using oak). Thanks in advance.
