fit in the gap between drawers. Personally I prefer the mortise install, but it takes a bit of skill to do perfectly so we skimped a little in this kitchen. It's hardly noticeable.
We're the cabinets mortised prior to installing pulls?

Now this is close to perfect if you ask me and I think the floor is maple maybe, not sure.
and the feel of this kitchen... the hood is kinda large though... some cabinets and drawers in the center island might help our storage ... and our maple floors would relate to this...

Hi there, these are all Acers or maples. The one on the far left in the photo is Acer palmatum 'Iijima sunago', the one in the distance is Acer palmatum 'Hogyoku'. The one on the far right is a vine maple or Acer circinatum. This is the fall color display.
I think you are getting into concrete with exposed aggregate at that point, but I'd check with your local landscape installers/suppliers to learn about the hardscape options for your climate/region. If you are in CA or the southwest, take a look at decomposed granite which can be used with a stabilizer
Tish your design is outstanding - love love your work! Congrats

Cultured Stone Wall and Facing
The steps are exposed aggregate concrete. The steps were in place along with the path from the garage to the front door when we were hired to install the walls and the softscape elements (plants/grass/soil work). There were a few modifications to the steps next to the columns to better incorporate

I like what I think is the Japanese Maple in the yard.

Awesome design - what is the tile on the back splash
I love this stain. Can you give me any insights into your custom stain? My cabinet maker keeps coming up with more gray than brown and I really like yours.
katie957 - Thanks so much for your compliments! We are always willing to travel to new places if you can't find the right custom cabinet maker in your area :) Unfortunately we don't know much about the flooring as that wasn't something that we installed. Good

Pergola in Spring!
This pergola draped in Wisteria over a Blue Stone patio is located at the home of Interior Designer Kim Hunkeler, located in central Massachusetts.
Beautiful arbor! Was it custom? Where to find the fiberglass columns?
If I were going to plant another wisteria I would install some kind of root barrier in the ground surrounding the outside of the root system (see link below). The upper vines wrap around the columns of the pergola
pressure treated post for the column to sit upon. These columns are not round, they are square but I know that they come round. The columns come with installation instructions. Thanks for the inquiry!
Thank you Jhborgen! I designed the arbor and my husband built it... the columns were purchased through http://www.hbgcolumns.com/fiberglass-columns/permacast-columns

We are looking to install a similar ceiling and running into issues with it meeting code for fire.
None of the finishes in this image are stained. The flooring is pre-finished bamboo. The ceiling panels are pre-finished C2 maple. The cabinets are clear lacquer on maple. The steel is blackened + penetrol. The window trim is painted black. I hope that helps.
If I understand your question correctly: The drywall on the wall runs "strong", and the maple ceiling panels butt into it with a small reveal joint in the ceiling plane. No cornice or other trim.
C2 Maple plywood attached with stainless steel trimhead screws. The screws are placed in pairs to create a subtle detail pattern.
The open space and design of the area is simple but beautiful!
