How do you get up to the roof deck (and how is water drained from deck entry)? Thanks
Thanks for your questions! You access the windows peak through a roof hatch and movable ladder from the interior. The water drains from the other side through a scupper.

The roof is supported by the i-beam and the concrete wall. There is an integral gutter on three sides of the roof which drains to the landscape behind the concrete wall. The roof is foam with an elastomeric coating (typical in Arizona) and the ceiling is 1x4 clear doug fir. Thanks,
I beam/drain!

We want to have a patio at the same level as our interior floor as you have done. Our builder is reluctant to do this because he's concerned about water splashing up and damaging the doors and walls and also not having a good way of draining away from the house. Has

konalookforme, you are correct that a 4 inch rise will be enough to drain the water off the roof, but a 2/12 slope will provide better protection from water deflection, wind driven rains, and back up due to ice dams. Slope

Rick I'm finding that sometimes a linear drain does not help with these barrier free shower designs. What key is having the right grade to the shower and some safety designed in of water gets past
happens the water goes in both directions and this can cause a large amount of water to escape the shower. Better design would include a secondary drain - somewhere outside the shower and before the door to the bedroom or hall. We are grading and building our barrier free showers larger than the wet
