the edging on the flower garden
English perennial garden, curving borders, varying heights with flowers
It's not too structured. It looks like an English Country Garden. Pretty!!

2012 - ILCA Excellence in Landscape Silver Award - Winnetka
The rebuilt partition wall effectively separated the driveway motor court from the formal cutting garden, but it needed special detailing to fit the context of the site. A copper coping was installed to match details on the coachhouse eaves and a custom iron double door/gate was added to perfectly match
walls give it that English walled garden look, perfect foil for the espalier trees.

I have a limited space in my garden and I would like to know what flowers to combine with catmint to give the most impact Thanks
are nice. Others to consider are Helichrysum petiolare, Lavatera, Dierama pulcherimma, Abutilon, Datura, Cestrum... For fragrance in a California garden nothing beats Osmanthus aurantiacus, difficult to find but worth the search (small orange flowers).
Thanks for your comment Garden Tech! I didn't realize that there were so many varieties. Perhaps I'll try a more compact variety. I loved the look of it. The big fat bumble bees
for the English garden where it was first selected, Walker’s Low catmint has become synonymous with traditional cottage and perennial gardens as a pathway edging or casually cascading over garden walls. While its dainty purple flower and form can serve as the perfect contrast to a classic English rose garden

understanding of what you like . Here is the first in a series of photos on Gardens styles - this is modern style . Here the specifics are not important. All I want to know here is do you like the big picture overall style of this garden.
These ornamental grasses work surprisingly well at the back of a traditional San Francisco home and are a nice break from the expected cottage or English garden. The muted colors reflect those found in the city's often foggy natural landscape and create a year-round peaceful retreat.

Work the English country garden look Not an inch of lawn in sight, but this verdant space has the English country garden look down to a T. The key here is to give the impression you’re not trying too hard. So don’t worry if your borders are a little overgrown – allow them to flourish at will.

Box or boxwood is a wonderful landscape plant. As part of an English garden, it can be trimmed into distinctive forms or left natural. It is also deer-resistant, making it an excellent choice for those areas where deer browsing is a problem.
