Winter’s icy cold can be exacerbated by strong winds. Left unchecked, this cold air can penetrate windows, doors and other small openings in your home’s facade. An evergreen windbreak can reduce wind velocity by two-thirds and reduce heating bills by 20 to 30 percent

Ways to take advantage of topography:In warm, humid areas: Place buildings on the upper slope of a site to catch breezes during the summer. In temperate areas: Place buildings below the crest of a hill, facing south, for heat gain in winter. In cold

Is this a natural slate floor or a great porcelain imitation? If it's porcelain, could you share details please? Thanks!
what is the color of the floor?
Can we put tile over cement floor in Northeast climate
We live in upstate NY and have a screened-in porch off our home (built in 1925). I just am not loving the cement floor and would like to use tile/slate. He says no, that it will crack etc because of the cold winters. What are our options?
Any update on type of brick? Working on a similar space and love the color combination with the flooring.
What do I need to know about installing such a floor. I am an idiot and will make countless. Mistakes if not advised properly.

Farmhouse Kitchen
What kind of floors are these? Is there a twin? Beautiful!
What kind of wood was used on the floors? Is it a character or rustic grade or reclaimed? Thanks!
What is the floor plan for this kitchen?
Could you please tell me the type and stain color of the wood floor? Thank you!
select for the flooring? I recently did a full home renovation with reclaimed heart pine flooring from a whiskey distillery in Kentucky. I chose to finish the flooring with Danish oil instead of polyurethane, thinking that the character of the wood would be better preserved. The floors are really showing
with a stain added. They also look site finished, widths are around 5". We made a similar floor for a client last year.
