The Hearth stone is 19"x20" you can put the depth either way. We usually put the depth at 20" and the 19" from stone to stone. I hope that is helpful.

We like this combination of the rough-edged stones, but the pattern and shape of the stones (on the horizontal). The vertical spaces are a nice contrast, like what we've imagined for the front wall.
