them the same as the wall, I see them in an entirely different 3rd color. We'll have 10ft ceilings in our 2nd floor main living area in our beach house. In the FR will have a coffered ceiling, in the DR, a tray, in the K and BR's just crown. Any recommendations?

when you say trim - I assume you are talking about all trim including baseboards, and casings. In my house the builder put a off-white/cream colour on trim

quickly. For a south west exposure, I would recommend a "Niko Blue". I have some by our back porch and they do very well, but they are against the house and benefit from some shade provided by two big fir trees, for about an hour, during the afternoon. I live in Oakland and would like to do a similar remodel on my kitchen.....nothing too fancy. I have collected some period cabinets (house built in 1914) and will need to have some more custom made. I'm trying to get a ballpark idea of what I can expect to spend.

called "inset" doors and the cabinets are called "face frame". 1940s was towards the end of the depression (less money, more practical design) and most houses from this period have 1/2 overlay style doors.

vaulted ceiling doesn't even have gables. It's just wide open. Loft over each end and it's home. (Well I guess there has to be a bathroom or two hidden away somewhere but...)
