How high are the ceilings? Love the brick work
Counters are Granite (island has butcher block on end) and the floors are reclaimed white oak
The ceilings are around 8' to 8'6 high.
bookcase on end of island - love the interesting paint
I like just the end of this for an island, all butcher block top. Most are way too big. You need to be able to reach across them. Linds and Ron had one too big, hard to get around and it was smallish.

I have a question? If you could look in my idea book I have two pics at the end of the album of my kitchen. I needed to know what type of countertops do I have and what floor and backsplash could I use to make my kitchen click together
Where are the fridge and freezer? At the end of the wall? Gorgeous.
how long is this space? i like the idea of two islands but kind of want a breakfast table at the end by the windows, this is the perfect solution for our new space!
every little thing on them especially when they are this dark. I love the look of them in my house but I have 2 dogs and cleaning the paw prints never ends. Expect to pay about $8 per sq. ft. installed or more.

Its introduction caused quite a stir among design aficionados. You can see why. Freezer on the left. Refrigerator on...

wooded waterfront property at the north end of the Hood Canal, a long, fjord-like arm of western Puget Sound. The house creates a simple glazed living space that opens up to become a front porch to the beautiful Hood Canal. The east-facing house is sited along a high bank, with a wonderful view of the

I am planning to have a upper countertop. 10" x 5' with 1 end butts up to a wall. The other end will have a 1 inch overhang. There will be 1 inch overhang on the sink side and 4 inch overhang on the other end. The counter top sits on top of a wall partition that is approx 5" thickness
thickness. I was told that the corner on 1 inch and 4 inch corner should have rounded corner at min. 3 inch arch and other corner on this end would not have a 3inch arch corner. It seems that the corners should be symmetrical. What is recommended?

could you please tell me how much counter space you have on either side of your sink (so sink to range, and then sink to where the counter ends on the right) thanks! this kitchen is an inspiration to me while I am designing my own L shaped kitchen also open to the family room :)
post more soon on subeeskitchen.com (my food blog). There are electrical strips on each short end of the island (if you zoom this picture you might be able to see them.) There are also outlets inside each short-end cabinet -- one for the stand mixer (with lift) and one for the wireless printer)
desk area could've been a little wider, so that at least one drawer could be wide enough for file folders. Also wish there was an overhang on the short ends of the marble, so that a bar stool could be brought around (better for conversation that 4 in a line).
