Garden Paths and Landscape Steps
A steep hillside is turned into a lush landscape using salvias, ornamental grasses, pomegranates and other easy care plants.
We have a similar hillside, but in southern NH - zone 4 or 5. Salvia and ornamental grasses are common here. Would any of these other plantings work here?
silvery lavender. Above that is a mass of salvia leucantha and echium fastuosum, Growing out from that mass is a pomegranate tree. The strong silver plan is a helichrysum. - A fairly basic Mediterranean plant palette was used. Happy Gardening !

I love this hillside!!! These are the most beautiful set of natural steps with an incredible plant selection. What size are the cedar timbers?

Dani Ridge House, by Carver and Schicketanz, Big Sur, California This house was designed to disappear and constructed with sustainability in mind. To preserve the surrounding landscape and conceal the home from uphill neighbors
neighbors, the architects cut a wedge into the hillside and backed the home into it. This allowed the land to rise over a gently curved roof, planted with native grasses. All the utilities are concealed belowground.
