Can you please tell me how you achieved the beautiful greyed weathered look on this ipe deck and what the maintenance is to achieve this look
Could you tell me the depth of the Ipe wood? Is it 7/8, 1", or 5/4?
Did you seal the wood with a clear sealer and then let it weather or is this completely bare? I am interested in Ipe because I want the gray and brown tones for our decking but want to be sure I treat it correctly to achieve that look. Our decking will get direct sunlight but it is under a covered porch
your area and it spans 24" on center from joist to joist. Thicker 2" material (net finished 1-1/2") will be far more expensive. We're glad you chose Ipe over PVC, and hope this bit of information helps you in your construction lisaafleisher.

A refined material palette modernizes this conventional 60′s ranch-home’s yard. Repetition of materials like stone, ipe and concrete combine beautifully to form a bold and contemporary garden. Layered walls perform double duty as both sculpture and a way to define gathering spaces. Contrasting leaf
How is the cantilevered bench supported?
How is the bench floating on the left? What is it made of?
This was a custom design for the client. The bench is concrete and is cantilevered out from the wall.
The wood is ipe and it is stained.

This is a well-furnished room with benches for seating, pockets for plants and even a fireplace treatment. There's a graphic

sell the bench as a kit? Or just the metal posts?
It is custom designed. The posts are steel and the substructure is pressure treated wood and the top is Ipe' hardwood.

Ipe deserves special mention because there are so many available products that use this beautiful wood. Ipe is sourced from the tropical tree genus Tabebuia, also known as Trumpet Tree in South Florida. It is an extremely dense wood that weathers beautifully over time to a light silver-gray. Ipe has

Can you tell me exactly how you hang and construct these benches? I've got a pretty good idea on how to, but am worried I may be 'over engineering it'! Great work
Just pretty...love the grasses and cement and bench
If you go with the boxed in purlins on the pergola feature you could do a low concrete wall where I have the bench located and cantilever a bench across the front
