like you’re being drawn between them. That’s why the best spot for a focal point is usually directly across from the entrance to the room. Here a seating arrangement around artwork draws the viewer into the room because the sight line is clear.

We are reconstructing a 1400 sq ft, 2 story home. the 2nd floor will carry the kitchen, full bath, family room, and small twin room. we have 700 sq ft on each floor to work with.
..But we would like to know the exact color? Why is it sometimes so hard to share information on an item in a room. It's like its a big secret or something. We are all getting wonderful tips and ideas on here but it's frustrating when we can't get a question answered. Thank you.
Did you have to cut the half wall like that? If so, How?
Where did you find the rug in the foreground?
Unfortunately, we do not have pictures with the curtains hanging.
This house was a new house, so we built the half wall to look this way. It is an idea we got from traditional bungalow houses. A good contractor would be able to help you in constructing a similar idea. Thank you, BVA

We're remodelling and it looks like our living room may be long & narrow like this, and I'm having trouble picturing it--can't tell if it will be too narrow, at 10' wide (by 18' long). Thanks so much!
Where did you find that painting? It compliments the room perfectly and I love the large size!
We have a north facing room with big windows. Have a greige (BM Pashmina) on 3 walls. Do you think 727 would be a way to brighten the fireplace wall(facing the windows and entry door)
