This entry door was existing in the home when our client's purchased it. It was custom painted on-site in an antique finish using multiple colors and layers of paint and glazes.
Glad you like the look! These walls were finished by a decorative painter who used a special technique to achieve this look. Here are the four Benjamin Moore colors that inspired the look: 998 Cabot

it is somewhat distressed. It goes through a process to open the grain so when the finish is applied, it fills the grain.
How does this finish withstand in the kitchen? What is the maintenance?
This is a rift cut white oak and it is somewhat distressed. It goes through a process to open the grain so when the finish is applied, it fills the grain.
I love this sleek space. Again the modern lines and shapes in the cabinetry and tile are softened by the finish on the rift-cut oak cabinets. The soft, driftwood feel of the finish is a great contrast to all the squared-off angles.

Hello can you tell me if you used a semi-gloss or satin poly on the finish?
Satin is quickly becoming the poly finish of choice. I think many people are wanting to stay away from the glossy look because they associate it with less expensive products from China.

My cabinetry gets always built by custom cabinet makers. That way I can specify the finishes I want, and am not dependent on the kitchen cabinet industry.
like these, but white, so are amenable to being re-faced. The finishes shown here would work just fine, and be MCM compatible. I'll bet that the brick wall can continue into the kitchen as backsplash, and work with these cabinet finishes.

Love these floors! Did you have to sand them before finishing them?
We are in the process of putting plywood floors as finished floors in our house. We're unsure whether it's necessary to sand down the plywood before finishing the floors with polyurethane. Any advice? Will it make a big
We did not add polyurethane as a finish as it was not recommended in the lake environment. Now they are chipping. What is the best filler to use for the chips? Also the best floor paint as they need to be repainted....and then we will add a polyurethane finish this time. We love the look and feel

attached to the floor using 2-1/2" countersunk gold screws. We covered the screw holes with wood putty and then sanded so they appeared flush with the finish surface. Our final step was to add a few thin coats of Polyurethane to give it the shine.
