That's exactly what it is....the floor actually had to have a bit of a slope to it, and the water goes into the drain by the door. The drain also comes in different patterns and sizes. Glad you like it, I love the look too, but it is not great for every application - you need

Is the shower pan flush wit or a few inches below the floor at the shower door opening? It seems that the shower floor slopes down toward the drain in the corner, but I cant tell from the picture whether it is flush with the bathroom floor at the shower door.

Is there a floor slope for the shower drain?
I am thinking about a frameless glass design with a stainless line drain but worry about the water drain flow.
Yes the floor is sloped to the channel drain and has no draining issues.

How did you waterproof the drain pipe as it goes thru the shower pan ?
Use a drain system like Kerdi.
Most high end bath retailers in Toronto carry that line. I'm afraid I can't remember the name of the brand. Try Gingers
