Great room! Lots of light and I love your use of Ikea shelving for storage bench.
Hey Bonnie, Great Room, and so nice that you've taken the time to answer everyone's questions!!
of the living room with the IKEA Expedit shelving unit behind the couch. Would like to see if a similar layout would work for our living room. (Plus, the colours and patterns are perfectly my style!)
actual "lived-in" living room, still very appealing
in this room, and the sense of freedom
in the living room. Vines crawling up and around the exterior are visible from the living room thanks to its unadorned windows. The stunning view of neighboring vineyards means there's no need for landscape paintings on the walls.Quilts: Handmade by Bonnie Forkner

public rooms. By opening rooms up to one another, you remove the need for separate circulation (a hallway) and can use the existing room circulation to get you from one side of the house to the other. This room, for example, combines the living and dining room, eliminating the need for a hallway in between
the main rooms in their homes. That's OK. After all, it's your house, and you should have what you want. Just remember, if you spend a little extra time to make your hallways more than just an afterthought, the reward will be huge.

Popular living rooms came in a wide variety of styles, from very traditional to very modern. Most living spaces had a neutral palette with just a few splashes of color, like this Washington, D.C., living room. Its strong, durable materials
also echo living room trends around the world.

Cozy Cottage
Kitchen and living room(not visible in this photo but you can see that they are open to each other in other pictures) were formerly 2 different rooms. Now they have a much more open and modern feel. The length of the kitchen however was added to. We added a substantial amount of square footage to the house
of the rooms that was expanded.

Classically designed Living Room

The wall division and space of room
contain the living room area. When tucked away, the sleeping nook can be used as an extension of the living room or simply left empty. The negative space gives visual relief to the adjacent living room, making it feel more open and reflecting more light.Yanagi butterfly stool: Hive Modern

level living. This late 1950’s rambler was outdated with sight line issues and included a claustrophobic kitchen that was separated from the main dining room. One of the challenges we encountered was figuring out a way to create an open floor plan with good sight lines while removing the structural
additions to room. To remove the load bearing wall and open up the kitchen to the dining room, we cut the roof trusses and installed a beam flush with the ceiling. The two structural posts were designed into the cabinet façade to appear as a design element as opposed to a structural element. We designed
