Living Room
This is a renovation of 1950's ranch home. The home was reconfigured in side to make for a wide open floor plan with a dramatic white marble slab fireplace that acts as an anchor and monument for the living spaces. Please note that due to the volume of inquiries & client privacy regarding our projects
that a porcelain tile or real carrerra marble?
Is this considered a "freestanding" fireplace?
Is this Marble honed or polished? and what type of
vertical given how heavy the marble is?
Hi there, I LOVE what you've done with this and I'm exploring doing something similar, but the calacatta marble slab is 20mm thick and exceptionally heavy. How did you get it to stay safely in place? Many thanks, Bernice

How was the panel behind the fireplace achieved?
Did you apply a sealer to this tile? Looks shiney like marble.
Where did you purchase the rug. It is the perfect match for our room
What is the white piece made of, that is going across the marble fireplace wall?
I have a similar fireplace wall, but I have a problem
What is used around the fireplace? Is it a marble or stone product?
I am interested in the height/length of the curtains? I have a very similar design of window around the fireplace and really like how you
cannot hang a large picture that I have because the fireplace heats rises up and will melt the plexi glass backing. I like the idea of this border that goes across the fireplace and I think this will solve my problem. What is this made of?? Is it marble as well??

-Quartzite-Fireplace-Surround-contemporary-living-room-dc-metro OR if you just have to have marble in your kitchen, you could use solid marble as a backsplash for a more durable stone, like in this kitchen: http://www.houzz.com/photos/3736890/Soapstone-Counters-with-White-Carrara-Marble-Full-Backs

of storage within the mirrored wall cabinets and the large drawers below. The mirrors were cased out with the matching woodwork and crown detail. The countertop is Crema Marfil slab marble with undermount Marzi sinks. The Kallista faucetry was chosen in chrome since it was an easier finish to maintain
theme through out the home. The floor tile is a 12 x 12 Bursa Beige Marble that is set on the diagonal. The backsplash to the vanity is the companion Bursa Beige mini running bond mosaic with a cap also in the Bursa Beige marble. Vaulted ceilings add to the dramatic feel of this bath. The bronze
cabinet on the end and what is the width of the above the counter tower? Thanks so much in advance.

If you want natural stone that is not a marble, look at the various white quartzites.

could stain. The issue with marble/travertine/limestone -- any material that contains calcite -- is not so much staining as it is etching from anything acidic. There is no sealer that prevents against etching. Most fabricators and stone retailers will advise honing the marble, etc. since etching is less
