such, I don't know that there is a formula I can pass on. These were typical parquet floors that were stripped and finished numerous times with a matte Black & gray stains. If you were to start with unfinished flooring, you would have an easier time achieving this color.

variety of sizes, but try to create cohesion by using similar frames/matts. I did a similar family gallery wall that also has both black & white and colour. The frames are all black of different thicknesses with crisp white matts. You could always spray paint frames....
the various styles all fit so well because of the matte finish on the white frames

lower rim lock and handle is actually original to the old door and the latch above is just a standard deadbolt in a brass finish and both were sprayed matte black to match. If you check around salvage yards and antique places that carry hardware I'm sure you will find similar ones.
Janie, Sorry I have not checked in lately, I would not do this in a kitchen as it is a rough stone and would be harder to clean. We have a large area matt down to protect from dirty boots.
