Hi Kelty - Each stove is a little different - some have round backs, others are flattened for a section. The clearances are clearly called out in the literature for each stove and if memory serves - a distinction is made between clearance to combustible and or non-combustible surfaces. All of the stoves
absolutely love that stove. But Rais does not make that model anymore! Not sure why as it's obviously a great looking stove. They've gone for a more "modern" streamlined look. Also a note on Rais stoves, the fire boxes are small and don't take cordwood longer than 12 or 14 inches. Not a problem if you
