In the kitchen the wall is utilised to store bottles of wine in a vintage wine rack. A new glass extension to the rear lets in light. The wall has been left in its raw brick state and has been painted with a magnetic paint.
How did you mount the wine rack?
I recently purchased the exact same wine rack from an antique store. I thought about mounting it on the wall just like that, but I have dry wall and the wine bottles stick out of the back too far to hang it with conventional dry wall mounts. I'd love to hear your

Kitchen - Wine Storage above Fridge
A custom wine rack above the refrigerator is a spin-off on the open shelving idea, and the gridlike pattern adds interest to the room. Because high temperatures can affect the aging process of wine, this idea works best above modern refrigerators where the coils are on the bottom of the fridge instead

that is 3 feet deep and rolls into the void under the stairs, and is large enough to hide everything! And under the counter is room for the famous wine rack and cooler. The result is a chic space that is comfy and inviting and keeps the urban flair the couple loves. Photography ©Ema Peter

did you actually make that for the wine? if so how did you do it?
Wouldn't a wine rack above a fridge always be a bit warm & not ideal for wine storage?
the only space available for the wine. With today's modern refrigerators, we find they don't produce nearly as much heat as the old versions did. Not saying it is "ideal" by any means, but sometimes you have to work with the space you have.
Yes, WAY too hot for wine storage. Unless it's mulled. ;)
this is a very undesirable place to store wine. Heat rises so upper cabinet storage of temperature sensitive wine is a bad idea. Throw in the heat generating fridge below that and you have a double dose of wine killing temps. No matter the storage issues, wine storage in this area is not a good idea.
