Love the metal divided windows framing the fireplace and the block walls (and the modern furniture).
Quilt as art over fireplace. Use of color for clean, but warm palette.
Of course, I endorse the idea of rugs as art. If you have a special rug that is valuable or unique, consider hanging it as a focal point over a mantel or bed.

It is a trundle bed. Unfortunately, the company that made that particular bed is no longer in business. But there are modern kids furniture companies (like Modern Seed) that made similar styles.
