I am doing the same hood on my kitchen
and my cabinet guy said that he was going to do the upper cabinets 15" deep, so I could have the same look: the hood didn't stick out very far.

What brand and size is the hood?
We're going to have a 36" Dacor island cooktop. Looking for a hood that has some style. Thanks.
What are the dimensions of the hood, how thick is it?

could work with going out to deck and then into study and curved seating affords a view...could kitchen be expanded and larger?
Create a zone. A cooktop hood with exhaust fan and lighting hovers over the cooking station here, creating a more intimate zone. You can bring elements down into a space to define function or work areas.

Can you please tell me the brand and size of this hood? Thank you!
I would love to know the counter surface of this kitchen?
Hi @ginainsb - the hood is 11" in height. There is also one at 7-3/8" in the same design.
Do you feel this would work in a smaller, eat-in kitchen in a 50's ranch home? I am having my kitchen remodeled this summer and I would love to do this but I'm not
Is this hood 9" or 10" in height? Thank you.
The flooring in this kitchen is cork
It should be a minimum of 36" for a "one cook" kitchen. 42" - 48" is the recommended distance for multiple chefs. The extra space allows two people to easily access all areas of the kitchen at the same time with out crowding or bumping into each other.

What size is the hood used here and which brand?
How does it work having the range in front of a window?
A hood the same width as a 48" range is perfectly fine, it's just that when I'm working with an appliance that's 30" or 36" wide, I always go with a hood that's 6" wider when ever I can. It's a better visual fit.
How is that possible? If I have a 48" range then based on your r
design - I haven't seen this before! They've used an island style hood but it's installed in front of the window and wall rather than an island. Very clever. My guess would be the woodwork might get a bit greasy, but if you have a strong hood, it will do some of the work. I supposed it's not much different
recommendation I need 54" hood, which I have not seen any in the market.

Is this a 48" or 54" hood?
We build custom hoods and usually when ceilings are very low, we build the hood to reach the ceiling without a stack. I you really want the stack, the hood will need to made pretty low profile to allow room for the stack, and the stack can be made a custom height. We
We recommend 72" as the height at the bottom of the hood, so your hood plus stack/chimney will need to add up to reach the ceiling.
