longevity of natural stone. Plus, lime plasters are naturally antibacterial, repelling mold and mildew — perfect for a bathroom. Short-term upkeep is a snap, as dust and dirt don't permeate the plaster. Just wipe it down with dry cloth. Long-term maintenance can be minimal if the plaster contains mineral

I understand you used acrylic cement plaster. Was that used on top of hardy backer on the walls or directly on drywall? Also, the floor does not look like it has a shower pan. Was the acrylic cement plaster painted directly onto the subfloor? Will it hold up to showering
It is 'Milestone E-liquid' hybridized acrylic cement plaster.
Hi. We used shallower floor joists at the shower and then built up the mud pan to the level of the rest of the floor. The flooring is a waterproof acrylic cement finish
installed over a traditional mud pan. The acrylic cement is troweled on like plaster. It is then sealed extensively. It holds up well in wet environments, even outside. Thanks for your interest. Hi Faith, Slate, and most natural stone floors are very low maintenance, you can expect them to wear very well. Our favorite tip is to use a good subsurface sealer, and then wash the surface with a soap based cleaner, like Murphy's Oil
slates and stones are very durable. You can think of them as being like Denim or Leather, compared to fabrics. Very practical, and much more warm, natural and comfortable looking compared to a porcelain tile.
