I love the brick accent wall. As long as brick is older looking and worn down I like it, if it's new looking I don't like it.

Actually the cabinets (and all the millwork in the apartment) was a laminate product - hot off the shelf new Formica product called 'Smokey Brown Pear'. Not your grandmother's Formica, though... Very durable, attractive and easy to work with...and the price
