I'm not sure what shades you are referring to? The light fixture is Jonathan Adler and I think the light bulbs came with it.

i like the stools under the table.

gets its mix of prints just right. There's a small geometric fabric on the stools, a more floral brocade on the curtains, and a larger graphic animal stripe on the rug. The different styles and sizes are key: too many small prints and they compete, too many large and things get messy.

Try placing stripes horizontally instead of vertically. This makes a space feel a bit more modern and updated. Notice that the welt on this chair was cut on the bias, which means the stripe was placed with a soft slant.

Hi, we just bought an antique piano bench that we would like to use as a coffee table. The bench was scratched so we sanded it down to bare wood. Can you tell us how to get the same effect and color of your table. Are the dark and light areas of the table caused by the patterns

a large floor lamp to the left of the end table, also with 2 more chairs. The client did not want too many table lamps for fear of 3 younger children in the home knocking them over, so one larger and lovely corner floor lamp and an abundance of upper lighting and builtin accent lights were the preference
