I would like to know if this shade is hung from a rod and if so, what type and is it mounted on the ceiling or wall? Also, what keeps the pleats so sharp? I there a strip of wood or the like sewed in? I want to try and make a shade like this and would appreciate any info you can provide.

What type of pleat is on the draperies?
I don't know where the tracks featured in the picture are from, but Kirsch has this type of hardware and a 'ripple fold' option (instead of pinch pleat) if you are willing to fix one end of the crutain. You can find similar hardware at www.curtain-tracks.com. Once you see what you THINK you want,

Hello, This looks like a Euro pleat to me, also known as a pinch pleat. Hope this helps!
