I would not recommend putting a mesquite tree that close to the pool. It doesn't really matter what tree you put there it will always be "the messiest tree in the garden" This tree was already here and the client has a full time gardening crew on staff to maintain the property so she wanted to keep it
Mesquite is ok so close to a pool?

Very nice pool lighting. Bright for night time and great for late night swimming. Looks beautiful and elegant. I think that it was a great idea due to the pool being so large.
Shouldn't a small lighted pool for the inner patio

very natural look.....small pond that is located next to the house and is surrounded by vegetation that hangs down into the pond. This also gives a hiding place for the fish. My new pond is very different....circular surrounded by vegetation (herbs, monkey grass, and salvia). Our ponds provide a respite
stone surround. Small stone wall with water sluice.
Traditional approaches. A small pool surrounded by stones is usually filled with water plants, but if it is deep and wide enough, koi will feel equally at home.
