We used a 3" white oak t/g stain in place, with a walnut and jacobean stain (mixed on site to get it right).
The floors are solid white oak, it was sanded and stained in place. They used a custom mix of stains.
The floors are white oak with a custom ebony stain.

It looks like a very pretty pre finished and hand scraped floor, Oak or Hickory.
Do you know what color stain was used for floors? I'm doing something similar... Walnut island and white oak random width floor. Having a hard time figuring out what stain to use on the floor to complement the Walnut. I like the way the floor and island work

Is this white oak floor? What stain did you use on this?
the nice color you ended up with? Oil based finishes worry me with oak because I really do not like when oak - especially red - turns really amber/honey colored.

Correct! Rift & Quartered White Oak is 50% more stable than plain/flat sawn White Oak. That makes it the prefered solid flooring for radiant heat installations. Many of our floors made for states in the north west are for RH systems.

this way produces a nice straight grain, white oak was selected because is does not 'move' too much (expand-contract, the house is equipped with radiant heat installed between the subfloor and finish floors).
