Like the whimsical shape of the chimney

A beautiful chimney... from the outside
integrated the stones into the chimney of their house when it was being built. Rocks can also be made into stunning lamps — but more on that in another story.
Leave no stone unturned, unstacked, or, oh you know what I mean. A fieldstone fireplace is the best kind of lake house fireplace. I love the organic shape of this one next to all of the clean contemporary lines of the house.

Chimney Caps featuring simple & clean
— four chimneys, two at either end of rectangular gable volumes. Each chimney bookends and stands out through their exaggerated height. Nevertheless they are wrapped in the same stone as the rest of the house; perhaps this gesture helps make the project modern.
materials: stone walls cut into the landscape, recalling an agricultural past. The vertical reaches of the stone chimneys mark important gathering places in the home, visible from all points on the site. Contrasting areas of airy, open windows and heavy stone speak to notions of shelter and thoughtfully control

without a chimney cap; how did you achieve this?
I'm curious what the detail looks like at the top of the chimney. I was under the impression that most jurisdictions require some sort of chimney cap, but I really like the detail on this project without the cap. How did you guys detail this? Thanks for
project. The chimney does not have a cap, and it does not seem to be a problem. We find that chimney caps are required in some areas and not required in other areas. A recently completed house just north of Boston also did not have a cap. However, several recent projects in Washington state did require caps
Large windows, warm wood mixed with stone and industrial looking metal (I prefer grey stucco over the metal siding though, i do like metal roof)

Stone chimney, stone plinths and stone base anchor this house to its site while the roof, like a great tent structure, is supported on tree-like poles.
