What is the stone for wall in this picture? Real or vaneer?
We are redoing outdoor patios and entrances and are building a wall similar to this in the design
Hello Sheri - The wall core is cmu masonry, the footings are framed/poured concrete, and the wall stone is a custom limestone veneer blend. "Veneer" means that the stone is attached to the face of the wall.
I like the stone wall. Great for seating.

upper level seating for a view of the Illinois River. Planter boxes with annuals, perennials and container plantings warm the space. The retaining walls add additional seating space and a small grill enclosure is tucked away in the corner.
What kind of materials was used for retaining wall? Thanks!
What size is the column and what is the dimensions of the stone base (height and width)? Thank you....
Thanks for inquiring. The walls and pillars are Unilock Olde Quarry and the color is River. The patio is Unilock Brussels Block and the color is a sandstone/limestone mix. The wall coping is Unilock Ledgestone, and the color is gray.
The posts are 6"x6" rough sawn cedar. The stone pillars are 22" square and also 22" tall, plus the height of the pillar cap. The pillar cap is 24" square and is 3" thick, making the total pillar height 25". You can comfortably be up to about 32" tall with the pillar based on your personal tastes

them being sized and shaped the way they are, and their terraced design makes for a diverse experience in this outdoor transition space. Site walls such as this can help us to utilize the full vertical space on a lot and markedly enhance privacy. The bridge above adds interest, definition and sense of enclosure
