Can you tell me how high the hearth is and how high the mantle is?
The hearth is around 17" and the top of the mantel is approximately 70".

i like the feel of the place, tv can replace the hearth suit us
This is simple, but I'd want a higher hearth.
In this picture the fireplace stone doesn't go all the way to the ceiling and the mantel piece runs all the way around the corner to the wall. The hearth has a 2" lift. May be unnecessary with gas insert
