Trellises. Plants growing on a wooden trellis will contribute to the wood’s rotting over time, because the plants trap moisture and open the wood up to decay. However, a wooden trellis can have a cottage-garden-style look that is not achievable with a metal trellis. Twining-type vines that wrap around
around structures, like clematis, are a better choice for a rot-resistant wood trellis, because they will not try to attach their roots to the wood.

Great walkway and trellis. What is the trellis constructed from? Thank
Thanks very much. The trellis is a DIY project made from what electricians call "rigid conduit"--an inexpensive, thin-walled, galvanized-steel tube. It's lashed together with zinc wire the way traditional bamboo scaffolding is assembled in Asia.

Looks like a fairly simple trellis.
Dark stone path and trellis tunnel
(the trellis supports prolific vines with Concord grapes) is filled with green. “I wanted it to be incredibly lush,” says Sherman. “One of the surprising pleasures of the house is that I love gardening — I never expected to like it as much as I do.”

Gorgeous setting and trellis! Can you tell me what type of vine is growing here, please?
Is the wood used in that trellis durable?
Love the trellis...what depth are you working with in picture?
to work with between my driveway and my neighbor's split rail fence. How much space where you dealing with on this project? Do you think building a trellis with an arbor would work in my space?
Hi Steph - there is still approx 3 feet behind this trellis as there is a small walkway behind it. If I recall correctly, the total width of the structure is about 2 feet so you might be fine if you can get a few more inches between your driveway
