fireplace that is? Vented? Electric? Natural? We are hoping to do a similar built-in with fireplace in our bedroom, but venting would be very difficult. Thank you!
Would you please let me know what the depth of the bookcases are? Also is the TV free standing? Thanks for
Does having the TV above the fireplace not affect the TV in any way.We are wanting to use a gas fire.
think those bookcases would be too small at 12", or maybe 15"? Just trying to squeeze something like this in as it would really change the look of our gas fireplace.
I had the same venting issue for an owner's suite project I am currently working on. The way I have creatively gotten around this is with a bio-fuel fireplace which burns ethanol, not those little stinky cans of gel. Much cleaner burning, no smell, no expensive venting or running gas lines. Prices start

fireplace. Given our modern design aesthetic, the long but narrow fireplace would certainly work. The question is where can I find a wood burning (not gas) fireplace? Are there fabricators who make these domestically (New York - Mid Atlantic)?
they can change out the artificial logs in their gas fireplace to something more modern. The answer is "NO". But if you have a masonry woodburning fireplace with a working chimney, you may change over to a gas burner for convenience. I am not one to talk you into gas, because I love everything about wood
in the long run is that one can generally convert from wood to gas, but not the other way (unless you are changing back to wood from gas). The technology involved when installing a solid fuel burning fireplaces is also acceptable for gas products, but not vice versa. Now that modern fireplaces with

Where can I get the set of chairs flanking the fireplace?
difficult. Actually easier than a vented... No vent stack to run. Push it through the hole that the framers left, weather seal the edges and plumb the gas line.
What is the make and model of the fireplace? It looks like a two-sided fireplace? Is it gas or wood burning?

what is the product used inside the fireplace (balls)? Can you use them in any gas fireplace?
Rasmussen fireballs ( http://www.rasmussen.biz/logs/fireballs_main.htm ), but it also appears to be a direct-vent gas fireplace (because of the glass front) and I was not aware of any direct-vents that used fireballs. You cannot put the mixed size fire balls in any gas fireplace (unless it was designed, tested

Looks like a Regency Horizon HZ40E fireplace (or older version HZ42E) http://www.regency-fire.com/Products/Gas/Contemporary-Gas-Fireplaces/HZ40E.aspx It's a direct vent fireplace, vented through the wall by the looks of it. Hope this helps.

Here's a couple of examples of a fire pit on a wood deck. These are the natural gas type with the gas line actually coming up through the bottom of the deck directly into the fire pit. They both actually came out quite nice and the customers
Hi cushopn, thanks for your question. This structure is a free-standing overhead that has post spacing of roughly 14' x 14'. It can be beneficial to have the structure free standing vs. attached to the house because you can avoid disturbing / modifying the structure

Is this a gas fire pit? what is it made of?
Nope, this is a lp gas fire pit with ceramic logs.... It is difficult to find fire wood in the Caribbean. We ran a conduit with the gas line within.
Looks like this a wood burning fire pit made of a brick or stone. My main reasoning is that it would be difficult to run a gas line through the sand
sand. If you wanted a gas fire pit that could sit on a similar surface, a portable fire pit like this one could be an option. http://www.houzz.com/photos/2232273/Fire-Pits-traditional-products-minneapolis
