of the hood? Did you have this custom made or can it be purchased?
Very pretty and creative kitchen! - warm and magical use of materials!
Every idea in this kitchen is just brilliant. I have been thinking about using a granite called White Springs that
the bar a separate piece or attached?
Can you give me information about the piece on the end of the bar? Is it attached or a separate piece? I am looking for something similar for my kitchen (separate with drawers).
Is the hood painted? If so, what color?

have the hood custom made from a metal fabrication shop. I cannot remember the exact metal they used but is a non rusting type.
Another counter material similar to this look is Bianco Ramano, in case you need a second option.

When you have custom cabinets built around the range hood like this, do you install a regular wall mount range hood and then cover it with cabinets or is there a special range hood that is intended to be covered (similar to a built-in fridge)?
range hoods designed to be installed into a cabinet or custom enclosure. Futuro Futuro offers several versions of such inserts, complete with blowers, lights, filters, and wireless remote controls - see example attached, or visit www.FuturoFuturo.com for the complete selection.
Ask for "Hood Liners" They are available with internal or external mounted fans. If you have the ability to mount an external fan on the outside wall it will greatly reduce the fan noise level in the kitchen.
looking for a classic subway tile, but would like to also find a raised relief tile that would go with it as a slight border or something to add just a tad of interest. I have a very small galley kitchen, the hood is the same as mine over range with a white porcelaine sink.
stain, but a combination. Mine will be stained next week! Your entire kitchen is spectacular, by the way.
makes the hood for the range? Thanks.
I used a moisture cure polyurathane and it looks like new 16 years later
I took up a hardwood floor in a kitchen, and replaced it with tile. It's terrible if you have a leak in a refrigerator and don't discover it before it does it's damage.
Buytile.com has a pretty cheap white 3x6 beveled subway

range and hood? Thank you
Is that a pop up down draft behind the electric cooktop? How do you find this?
behind a range, you will want to ask about care, as this has not been tested in this display. They were installed more than five years ago, so we're not sure of availability at this point. If you are in the greater Boston area, you are more than welcome to come by our Clarke showroom in Milford, MA to
accommodate a 4 and 1/2 ft. by 3 and 1/2 ft island and have 3 feet between the island and the 2 counters ( range and sink ). Is that enough?
what is the manufacturer of this hood?
I have a low ceiling (84") and want as short of a profile on the hood as possible, while still getting efficient venting
I am remodeling a house and saw this kitchen on the cover of Better Homes and Gardens. I love
the wolf hood 36" wide and the same width as the range?
We have a similar layout and are debating a prep sink on the island
thanks
there a color I could paint existing cabinets to get close to the custom color?

What is the optimal distance between the countertop and the bottom of the hood so that there is functionality but good visibililty?
Currently our cook top is at a lower level in the island with 5 bar stools Looking at options for remodeling,
have the hood in your line of sight, so you're aware of it.
Yes, you might have the view partially obstructed by the hood's chimney (about 10-13" wide on most hoods). The horizontal hood body of a slim designer hood such as the one pictured* will only block 2-3 inches of vertical space, which is a small
range hood 26" - 30" above the cooking surface. This recommendation is based on 3 factors:
1.) The hood should be close enough to the cooking surface to capture the smoke/steam/grease *before* it spreads out and misses the range hood altogether.
2.) It's a good idea to keep the lights below eye level
There is a sink on the other side, across from the stove.
All the surfaces of this home have multiple layers of color using different faux techniques.
There is not one wall that has a single layer of paint. You can hire a local artist to help achieve this look, but I can't give a one-color, out-of-the-can
