That's not a wood-burning stove, that is an Aga, which runs on oil, gas or electric. Behind each of the two doors on the right are ovens - top one is hot, lower one is moderate. The Aga stays on all the time, so the two rings under the chrome lids are also hot. Agas do have clearance requirements

Dramatic vaulted ceiling in Kitchen
Yes their is a ridge beam and it looks like these beams just slightly bigger. It provides a flat area for the electrical connection for the chandelier. Sorry don't have a photo of it. This kitchen will be published in Kitchen and Bath Ideas magazine in 2014.
