Is the wood island hard to maintain
raised bar with stools. I don't want to spend the money on new granite. So, I had thought to do the raised part in wood, but am worried about the maintenance. I love the way that the wood warms up the room. I hope it works like I want. Thanks!

what type of wood flooring is this
group of tables in front of sofa look to be wood & acrylic combo, were they upcycled ? also back of sofa, is this a throw or upholstered?

The tables are acrylic glass and wood combination at Bleu Nature and they are apart of the Kisimi Collection. The back of the sofa is upholstered in Bergamo/Grizzly fabric from John Brooks

Love the acrylic / wood cube tables
bring deer into your home, without getting all their little hoof prints on your carpet. This home reminds me of a winter resort lodge with its massive wood beams. Rustic or mountain-lodge-style homes just need to have some deer, in my opinion.

The basement route is a good way to start the tour of the interior. In the previous photo we could actually see through the door to the wood wall lining the north wall of the stair hall. To get upstairs we move through a threshold in the fieldstone wall.
