How did you set the drain against the wall?
When you say to pack out the wall after the drain is set, do you mean to pack the wall out after you put in the liner. How do you pack out te wall on top of the liner? Can you show me a diagram? Torry Manzo
what do you call this type of drain ?
standard clamping drain isn't going to fit (half of 6 1/2 being 3 1/4 which is greater than 2 5/8.) With John's suggestion I found the Zurn FD 2250 clamping drain which has a total width of 5". That should be able to be placed with its center at 2 5/8 from the wall. Given that the OD of 2" PVC is 2 3/8
and the drain itself is something like 2 3/4 wide (using the ACO Quartz Plus as an example). Half the drain width is therefore 1 3/8, which means you want to place the center of the clamping drain 2 5/8 inches off the studs (1 1/8 wall build up, 1/8 grout joint and 1 3/8 of the linear drain). A standard

The Grata drain looks like a primary shower drain. You will need to privately test this drain if your having permits pulled as I believe they have not applied for a primary shower drain classification ion North America. Like mentioned above the Proline drain is as close to this drain as you can get

Overlay cabinetry has a faceframe that is revealed between the door and drawer fronts which do not cover the faceframe completely - and Full-Overlay cabinets mimics the appearance of Euro-Style cabinets by covering the faceframe completely

3-inch drain and waste line, consider a larger traditional drain like this one shown here. These higher-flow-rate drains can handle much more water flow and don't sacrifice on style at all. If you want a more custom-looking grill, Designer Drains makes replacements for many of the standard drain grills

Obviously cannot brush teeth in it. Where does water go? Will the drain get mossy? It is such a great idea though. Truly a conversation piece. Love it
The water runs into a hidden drain in the floor covered by the travertine - you can see the small cut in the travertine.
think its a practicable choice given that you use it to wash your hands and the mess it must make on the floor and wall when it splashes down onto the drain tile at the end of the run.

sink water slides into the shower drain
Some of today's sink designs don't need a P-trap, like the one in this photo. This sink doesn't even have a waste line; the water simply slides down into the shower drain!
