Could you tell us the wall color that is so appealing in this kitchen?
Can you tell me about the counters?
is a higher grade that won't be found at the box stores. Only a lumber store will have a decent #2 pine quality 6" V-groove plank. Expect to pay about 1 buck per lineal foot and note that a 6" plank is 5.5" wide. Note this is not bead board as well. The finish is also not a brush-on latex from HD
Instead of a soffit we could raise the height of the cabinets to the top of the window and then do about a 6" detail at the top and uplight them.

Please let me know if you have a question about this project. The square accents are precast concrete set into the brick. I hope your project turns out well!
Like this brick. Not sure about upper part
The style, which incorporates a large, inoperable plate glass window flanked by double-hung windows, became almost ubiquitous, showing up on just about every colonial spec home built in the 1960s and 1970s.

Lovely space. Question about the casing around the arched window. Was this custom milled?
between me and the cabinet maker. It was a local company for us, Todd Warner Cabinets. But in general these are a pretty simple shaker style cabinet that we had furniture style feet made for.
This was about an eight foot window total.
Love everything about this house--see other photos

The new window is in, and the new floor has just been installed. I'm going to post before and after pics in about a weeks time.
I just bought both pieces from pier one for $150 with tax. About $69 a piece.
They are made of in stained ply, and are 30 inches deep which gives us more than enough storage.
these, believe it or not, came from Pier 1. I believe they were about 200$ for the set, and are made of cast aluminum

Need advice about using quartzite for kitchen counters
We are building a vacation home near the beach. I love the look of quartzite. I was initially told that it was more durable than granite. However, I...
Question about using white mortar.
Does white mortar turn gray and mold over time? If so, can you do anything to prevent this? Thanks, Scott
