The tub is appx 3-4" from the wall and the tub edge is very thin so the spout actually projects about 4-5" into the tub. I know the filler is a Rohl but don't remember the exact model - you are probably right...

It's a glazed black brick. It's a half brick, not a full brick. I believe it was from Carolina Brick. There was a whole discussion about this earlier. Please look back through the comments to find any more information you are looking for.
BrickThere are many variations, but in general, a brick is made of clay rather than the concrete in a CMU. Bricks are also generally smaller (about 3 by 8 by 2 inches) and red, though as you can see in this photo, bricks come in all the earthen colors, including black. Though brick looks impenetrable
