at the base of the duct cover. This meant that we ended up with a 3/4" reveal between the duct cover and the wall. We solved the problem by making a 3/4" drywall "check" in the wall in the profile of the duct cover. You could do something similar by creating a raised drywall platform in the shape of
mortar bed, a cement-board such as Hardi-backer, or even on 2 x 4's), with a straight return back to the wall using some of the same tile. I've attached an image, below, of a kitchen backsplash with larger glass tile ( I hope it posts). Alternatively, some stores and companies now have glass dome liners
