simple foam covered cushion on top becomes extra seating. Could do the cushion in two sections and place on top of one another if some table space was needed. Also softens the look of the room by adding fabric element.

No offence but, how can someone 'age in place' when they can't reach the microwave from a wheelchair or lift down a heavy hot dish? Perhaps the under sink options would be better. Children could also access
kitchen designs as many clients are interested in the concept of universal design (design that is accessible and fulfills requirements for 'aging in place').
